Flamenco En Beirut
FLAMENCO REGULAR CLASSES starting October 1st, 2012
1 October 2012

The REGULAR classes you were all waiting for will begin on Monday October 1st, 2012.

Your teacher is Diaa Eddin (aka Diaa Homsy), a very talented dancer who was part of the Caracalla Dance Company as a first dancer. He fell in love with flamenco and took advantage of his work with Caracalla to go to Spain to learn and train mainly in Madrid, in the famous school “Amor de Dios”. Things went much more serious when he decided to leave the Caracalla Company and go to Seville (Spain) to learn flamenco as it should be. He joined the renowned school “Fundacion Cristina Heeren” in Seville and in June 1012 he got his diploma with mention “Very good”. He could stay in Spain and work as a flamenco dancer, but he choose to come back to Lebanon and collaborate with me in opening a true flamenco academy, the first one in Lebanon for sure, and most certainly the first one in the Middle-East.

I take this opportunity to announce you that “Flamenco en Beirut” exists now as a non-profit cultural organization, duly registered at the Ministry of Interior… and I hope that with your help and your commitment, this organization will go growing, spreading the love for flamenco all over the country.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS:

Place : Centre Machkhas, Ain el Mraisseh (facing Hard Rock Café) – (Level -2 elevator on your right).
Practical details : Maher, the valet parking, will park your car for 2000LL. There is also a public parking just next to the building. You can also park for free in the street where you can find lots of spots.

Levels :
- Complete beginners: for those who don’t know anything about flamenco dancing.
- False Beginners: for those who had some classes, followed one or two workshops, or have strong dance skills.
- Intermediates: for those who practiced the flamenco dancing for more than one year on a regular basis. I insist that Latino, ballet, ballroom dancers cannot join the intermediate group, even with very strong dance skills, because flamenco demands very good technique acquired only with a long practice.
